{"id":3483,"date":"2016-12-31T00:48:43","date_gmt":"2016-12-31T00:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/?p=3483"},"modified":"2016-12-31T00:48:43","modified_gmt":"2016-12-31T00:48:43","slug":"be-in-the-now-live-life-with-awareness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/2016\/12\/31\/be-in-the-now-live-life-with-awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"Be in the Now \u2013 Live Life with Awareness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How quickly time seems to pass.\u00a0 One moment it&#8217;s Easter then within a blink of an eye it&#8217;s Christmas and New Year.<\/p>\n<p>Being in the present helps to be aware of how you are travelling with your goals, health, wealth, behaviours and life in general.\u00a0 Otherwise it can feel like it&#8217;s all just flying by without realising it until well down the track.<\/p>\n<p>Would you prefer to be in the moment and present, rather than time just disappearing and skipping through the months without even noticing how quickly life happens?<\/p>\n<p>When we live in the moment we are more aware of everything; from what we are doing, how we are feeling, our behaviours and actions.\u00a0 Being present or in the moment is being able to leave the fifty things that are on the list to do and focus on the here and now. This very present moment is here to be experienced.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed I do love that saying \u201cthe present is called the present because it is a gift\u201dand what better way to experience that gift than to actually be present in the now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/digital-detox.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2874 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/digital-detox.jpg\" alt=\"5 Tips to Help You \u201cUnplug\u201d &amp; Living a More Meaningful Life\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/digital-detox.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.vivehealth.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/digital-detox-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How healthy is your \u201cbeing in the moment\u201d?\u00a0\u00a0 One way to reflect is to ask yourself if you really listen when people talk to you, or are you thinking about your answer or the to do list?\u00a0 If you are present when chatting with someone you would be genuinely listening when they speak, and I mean\u00a0 listening; hearing what they are saying and having a conversation with a natural flow to it.<\/p>\n<p>It can be challenging to be present, it might just be too painful for the person on some level to be in the moment 100%. It might be a survival instinct to literally be beside themselves rather than stay present and connected.\u00a0 There are many reasons that we might unconsciously decide to not be present.
