Nicki comes from a background of working on the front-line of Ambulance emergency services, completing a Masters in Suicide Prevention (Suicidology) and now brings her passion for helping others to her current role of counselling.  Nicki's goal is to assist her clients in living a full, rich and meaningful life even as they face their challenges and find solutions to whatever is getting in the way of living the full life they desire.  She believes that the individual is ultimately the expert of their own life, their needs, their problems and their solutions; her role is to hold a safe, non-judgemental space, and to empower clients where necessary with some tools that they can carry into their everyday life.  Nicki further brings an approach that aims to incorporate the mind-body continuum into a counselling setting, and her style is very active, practical and solution-oriented without reliance on talk-therapies alone.

Nicki has trained in Tension/Trauma Release Exercises (TRE), energy psychology approach Simple Energy Technique (SET), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and PSYCH-K, and is a member of the Australian Counselling Association.  She further has a special interest in helping her clients to heal from trauma, resolve root causes of chronic anxiety and depression, relationship or parenting issues, self-worth and self-acceptance issues, chronic pain with an emotional cause, and issues relating to grief and loss (especially traumatic grief).
