A famous name is born. Since 1882, our salt has been made with the same traditional artisan methods in the coastal town of Maldon. It is unchanging yet ever-changing, constant yet continuously challenging. However, the salt always remains the same.

Four generations of master salt makers have been hand harvesting the naturally formed flakes that have become Maldon‘s signature. The Osborne family have been making the finest quality salt for a century. That‘s a long time and a lot of salt for a family that’s both custodians of an ancient culinary tradition and creators of a globally recognised brand.

We hand harvest our gourmet salt flakes to ensure they are perfect in both taste and texture. We then package them and send them out around the world. But it doesn’t end there. We take it upon ourselves to inspire chefs and gastronomes plus each new generation of up and coming talent, wherever they may be. Whatever we do, we do it with passion.
